Schedule: M-F 9-5; occasional non-standard including evenings and weekends during events, hybrid schedule available 

Salary: $22/hour, 35 hours per week

Scope of the Position: 

The Development team contributes to the mission of the DMA by soliciting and stewarding over 14,000 annual memberships, many generous contributions from individual donors, ongoing support from charitable trusts and organizations, numerous prestigious grants, and a bevy of corporate partners and sponsorships.  

The ideal candidate for the Development Coordinator at the Dallas Museum of Art will be an organized individual with the ability to coordinate a diverse set of projects. Candidates who are proactive, self-motivated employees who perform well in a team setting are encouraged to apply.  

The Development Coordinator supports many aspects of the Development department, providing direct administrative support to the Chief Development Officer as well as project planning assistance and coordination for all other areas of the team. Duties include assisting with calendars, reports, department schedules, budget tracking, project and event timelines, and communication both to internal and external stakeholders. 


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide administrative support for the Chief Development Officer, including calendar scheduling. 
  • Create and coordinate timelines in Microsoft Planner for the department’s Special Events and Institutional Giving Teams, helping to ensure timely and accurate record-keeping for exhibition openings, member events, major annual fundraisers, and grants. 
  • Provide general administrative department support for Development Committee meetings (e.g., presentations, agendas, narrative reports, etc.). 
  • Provide department-wide budgetary tracking, including creating budget spreadsheet templates, overseeing credit card receipts and reporting, processing invoices, and reconciling expenses. 
  • Provide administrative financial support for the DMA League. 
  • Coordinate meeting scheduling for the DMA League, the Development Leadership Team, and all department-wide meetings. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

 Requirements 

  • Education, Experience, and Certification: associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • One to three (1-3) years of experience working in an office environment or in a customer service role. 
  • Proficiency in Raisers Edge or similar relationship management database and in the Microsoft suite of products preferred. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and demonstrated flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities. 
  • Experience working with arts and culture organizations preferred.

  • Strong organizational, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills required. 
  • Extremely detail oriented. 
  • Ability to keep accurate budget forecasts and reconcile expenses. 
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality of sensitive donor and stakeholder information. 
  • Positive and customer service oriented. 
  • Must be an innovative, self-starter and possess a demonstrated ability to be proactive and productive with minimal supervision. 
  • Exceptional time management skills. 
  • Ability to interact with donors, stakeholders, and Museum colleagues confidently and diplomatically. 
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend events.
