Do you have a passion for working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities and/or autism? Do you have a Master’s Degree? If this sounds like you, Damar Services is looking for a talented and motivated Counselor with a big heart to join our Outpatient and Behavioral Services team. An Outpatient Counselor is responsible for a variety of duties related to case development, treatment plan development and implementation, and crisis intervention in individual treatment of clients. The incumbent is responsible for providing individual and family therapy, group support, crisis intervention, as well as other support services to assigned clients. Additionally, Outpatient Counselor will assists the treatment team, including the Director of Intensive Behavioral Intervention Services, Stabilization and Treatment team, Outpatient team, and other members as designated, in the evaluation of clinical services.

Responsibilities

- Provides crisis intervention for identified clients.
- Provides group support for identified clients.
- Ensures that consistent behavioral-based treatment occurs for clients.
- Participates in clinical staffing for clients in the Outpatient Clinic.
- Achieves required productivity standards.
- Maintains neat, chronological records of clinical documentation with clients.
- Keep abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations.
Qualifications
What you need to be considered…
- Master’s degree required preferably in social work, psychology, counseling or applicable discipline.
- Be at least 21 years old
- Valid Indiana driver's license and good driving record
- Must meet and maintain background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.
- No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Essential Job Functions:
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
