Do you have a passion for working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities and/or autism? Do you have a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling?  If this sounds like you, Damar Services is looking for a talented and motivated Outpatient Counselor with a big heart to join our Outpatient and Behavioral Services team. The Outpatient Counselor will perform a variety of duties related to skills building groups and crisis intervention.  The incumbent is responsible for providing individual, group support, crisis intervention, as well as other support services to assigned clients. Additionally, the Outpatient Counselor will assist the treatment team, including the Residential Director of Clinical Services, Stabilization and Treatment team, Outpatient team, and other members as designated, in the evaluation of clinical services. 

 

Schedules:

Part Time 24 hours per week (Tuesday-Friday 2p-8p)

  • Provides crisis intervention for identified clients.
  • Provides group support for identified clients.
  • Ensures that consistent behavioral-based treatment occurs for clients.
  • Participates in clinical staffing for clients in the Outpatient Clinic.
  • Keep abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations.
  • Maintains neat, chronological records of clinical documentation with clients.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops as recommended by the Residential Director of Clinical Services.
  • Achieves required productivity standards.

What you need to be considered…

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university required in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or applicable discipline.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and good driving record.
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.
  • No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
