What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer Intern position at Dana Corp?
Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving three primary markets - passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment - Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.
* Collect data for several Value Added/ Value Engineering projects.
* Process development & documentation of manufacturing work instructions.
* Assist and test the development of new operator friendly tooling designs/capabilities.
* Perform research, design & development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods & production equipment.
* Assemble, test and analyze specified products to meet various customer performance requirements
* Write and present reports on all active projects.
* Assist production with manufacturing issues as required.
* Interface with other disciplines including: production, safety, and lean manufacturing
* Record and collect test data.
* Uphold the mission and quality statement.
* All other duties as directed by management.
Required Skills:
* Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
* Experience with Manufacturing or Assembly a plus
* Computer proficiency in a Windows environment utilizing Microsoft Office
* Excellent mechanical aptitude.
* Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to permit effective interaction with all levels of Dana and external customers.
* Self-directed and motivated individual with excellent organizational skills and accepts responsibility.
