The Senior Marketing Manager - Chemistry / Immunoassay for Beckman Coulter is responsible for driving demand and maximizing sales of Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay portfolios in North America. The incumbent will be responsible for the commercialization of new products, continued growth of existing products, analysis of industry and competitor trends, funnel management, and overall commercial execution. You will also collaborate closely with Global Product Marketing and Product Management on current and in pipeline products to identify market opportunities.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop and implement commercial and market plans and programs, both short and long term, to increase market share in key customer segments (IDNs, GPOs, Government, Commercial Labs and Distribution).
- Work cross-functionally to execute marketing plans for new instrument and assay launches applying the Launch Excellence (LeX) process.
- Sets goals for new products both in terms of specific product growth and profitability as well as contribution of new products as a whole to the company's financial performance.
- Establish daily management process to ensure achievement of New Product Development targets and product line growth in key segments.
- Create sales tools and training aimed at moving customers through the buying cycle in alignment with menu expansion and new product launch goals
- Develop and launch promotions and communication campaigns to expand test menu expansion and hardware sales. Lead visual management to track impact of these promotions and suggest improvements/changes as necessary.
- Serve as mentor and coach to Marketing Managers to consistently apply best-practices to LeX process and increase likelihood of NPD revenue attainment.
- Work with the sales leadership to ensure sales messaging and skill sets are continually evaluated and improved. Provide guidance and support as needed.
- Help remove roadblocks to closing business, stepping in to assist shepherding deals to close as necessary. Perform segmentation of markets to support the strategy, identifying new growth areas
- Maintain regular contact with existing customers to strengthen relationships and ensure satisfaction with products, solutions and services offered; implement and monitor creative marketing activities aimed at expanding/growing core business.
- Participate in customer symposiums and user group meetings to drive customer retention.
- Maximize competitive advantage and champion new directions through superior understanding and analysis of market trends, beliefs, perceptions, behaviors, and scope as well as competitor actions, strengths, weaknesses, and plans.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all legal requirements for marketing campaigns (on- and off- line).
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree in field with 10 years exp. OR Master's degree in field with 8 years exp. OR Doctoral degree in field with 6 years exp.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in life science or medical device downstream / commercial marketing or related sales experience is required.
- Ability to work in a large, matrixed organization and a working knowledge of the principal areas and role of Marketing / Sales.
- Ability to travel 25% to 50%, domestically.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience in clinical diagnostics.
- Working knowledge of the principal areas and role of Service, Manufacturing, Planning, R & D, QA and Business Development.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to perform exceptionally well in fast paced, performance-oriented environment.
- Flexible, curious and tenacious with a can-do positive approach in a challenging business.
