Our fully automated plant in Eldridge, Iowa is seeking a Maintenance Manager to provide and/or manage all maintenance needs for the facility. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role and will perform technical tasks as well as manage projects/vendors/contractors for larger initiatives.

The ~65,000 square foot chemical blending plant runs one shift Monday-Friday and consists of about 22 total associates. The bulk of the role will work with pumps, valves, pneumatic systems and piping -we have over 25 miles of piping!

This is a full-time, salaried role that is eligible for our comprehensive package of benefits starting on day ONE. This includes paid holidays, medical benefits, and 401(k).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintenance and repair of all types of specialized equipment specific to plant operation according to work instructions or preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Compliance with company safety policies including safe operation of equipment, PPE usage, hand tool safety, lock-out-tag-out, and proper storage of tools, etc. and compliance with good housekeeping policies.
  • Report complicated equipment malfunctions to supervision.
  • Accurately perform required computer data entry; Attention to detail is a critical function.
  • Participate in team meetings, which include planning daily work and resource utilization, problem solving, project work, etc.
  • Maintain visual management office supplies; clean and organized work area.
  • Initial and continuing training on hazardous waste identification and operational procedures as duties may involve the identification, generation, proper handling or management of hazardous materials and waste.
  • Cross-train on other equipment, crafts, or other areas as needed.
  • Participate in corrective and preventative action practices as it relates to product quality, plant safety, environmental and DOT compliance.
  • Understand and execute policies and procedures that emphasize ChemTreat product quality and plant safety.
  • Respond to unexpected plant issues when needed. May work during plant shutdown hours and/or overtime as required for repairs and upgrades.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma
  • Pipe fitter / plumbing / millwright experience and skills and especially knowledge of valves, pneumatics, boilers, RO systems, pumps, and plant operations
  • General construction experience
  • Heavy lifting and respirator clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Journeyman card
  • Automation experience including knowledge of PLCs and associated supporting hardware
  • Experience in inventory management, forklift operation, and computer data entry
  • Working knowledge of basic mathematics, DOT regulations, and common tools
