ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a driven Assistant Controller (North America) who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities - a self-starter who can work independently but who is also a good team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Reporting to the Global Financial Controller you will support the financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in compliance with US GAAP, including booking journal entries and performing reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, work closely with the operations teams to ensure proper cost of sales allocations, process and account for all aspects of payroll and benefits and manage the filings of locals Sales and Use taxes. Management of Assistant Accountant (remote worker based in CA)
You will be a key member of the IDBS Finance team, and will provide key financial leadership, business support and analytical insight for various business partners and senior management.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for the US monthly and quarterly close & reporting process, including owning the preparation of balance sheet reporting, monthly account reconciliation and supplemental data requests
- Preparation of month end analytical review of actual versus budget/forecast. Responsible for billing and revenue recognition accounting
- Review contracts for proper revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606
- Responsible for accounting for payroll and all US taxes/benefits and reconciling all payroll, tax and benefit accounts.
- Responsible for the compliance with local, state, federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including sales tax in multiple states and informative filings
- Calculate monthly provisions for Sales Commissions as well as review and approve Sales Commission calculations quarterly
- Responsible for the schedules for annual tax filings. Prepare and post journal entries
- Prepare and assist with documentation for internal audits. Perform financial control/SOX testing and compliance. Development and enforcement of internal controls.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance, or CPA / CA
- Minimum 5 years accounting experience in software related field, including in-depth knowledge of Revenue Recognition concepts for a Software company.
- Demonstrated management experience
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point). Experience with NetSuite ERP software and Avalara highly preferred
- Experience of working in a global business environment with strong understanding of global process.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations and SOX Compliance. Knowledge of US Sales and Use Tax. Payroll and benefits knowledge.
