The primary responsibility is to provide Cost Accounting support for Carlsbad Sciex reagent manufacturing site including partnering with Management to conduct cost benefit analysis.

• Responsible for the full month-end close and reporting process for the Carlsbad Sciex reagent manufacturing site as well as monthly forecast updates.

• Activities include but not limited to maintaining standard costs, monitoring and reconciling purchasing activities.

• Investigating actual to standard or estimate to budget differences, assisting engineering and procurement professionals with work order variances and PPV analysis, excess and obsolete reserve calculation, analysis of scrap, cycle count, cost center spending analysis, and reconciling balance sheet accounts.

• Assist with Cost Accounting tasks related to Sciex US Commercial organization.

• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analyses as well as ad-hoc analysis to improve operational efficiencies for the Carlsbad Sciex reagent manufacturing site.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline is required.

• 2 to 3 years relevant manufacturing cost accounting experience, as well as strong financial/operational systems is required

• Strong Excel spreadsheet skills are required

• Oracle manufacturing system experience is preferred

• Excellent time management skills are required.

• Able to work without direct supervision is required.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills are required.

• This position will be located in Carlsbad, CA and may require up to 20% travel.

• The ideal candidate should be highly scalable and have the initiative and resourcefulness to complete work assignments in a changing environment. And the ability to interface with all levels of staff.
