The Field Service Supervisor for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the daily management of the field technical staff. The Field Service Supervisor will have formal supervisory responsibilities for a defined team of Field Service Engineers and may be requested to support the district with limited service calls and preventative maintenance (PMs). The supervisor models outstanding customer service through strong communication and collaboration skills both internally and with our customers. Core duties include building a technically strong and cohesive team while maintaining a strong partnership with sales to retain base business. Effectively ensuring the day-to-day operations of the field service team performs with accuracy and completeness in repairs, calibrations, instrument qualifications, and shipping & receiving.
This position is part of the Field Technical Service team located within a 1-hour commute of Detroit, Michigan and will be fully remote. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
You will be a part of the Detroit team and report to the Service Area Director (Central) responsible for meeting and exceeding customers’ expectations while supporting sales and service growth. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead weekly team calls to review customer issues, KPIs, and general team announcements.
Lead by example and work to build the best team via employee development and by recruiting the best internal and external candidates
Partner with assigned team and coordination center to define the best strategies to support our customers
Drive a sense of urgency to ensure customer needs are addressed promptly with an emphasis on “first-time fix”, driving compliance and leveraging DBS to map organizational improvements.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Associate degree with 8 years’ experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, and/or electronic equipment.
Or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience Or Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience
Current and clean driver’s license record
Must be willing to travel approximately 25%-50% of the time
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Previous Beckman Coulter Field Service Engineer experience
Supervisory management experience
Troubleshooting and repair experience on medical laboratory instruments
Office efficiency
