What you’ll do
Perform in-process and finished good product testing. Collect and analyze production samples to ensure product meets the required specifications. Perform mechanical testing on work-in process and finished products (tensile strength, dimensional and visual checks, etc.)
Properly record all production data (including sample labels, labor recording, etc.). Complete shift report and proper shift transfer. Perform rework as required to minimize cost associated with quality issues. Contain problems batches from stock, WIP, etc. to ensure problem is contained. Perform incoming inspection of raw materials. Inspect components, hardware, and semi-finish goods for visual, dimensional, and/or functional non-conformances. Performs special analyses as required (infrared, cross-section, etc.). Record inspection and testing results according to procedure
Collect and file appropriate documentation for incoming material to ensure batch lot control and quality specifications are traceable. Communicate and document deviations and/or non-conformances according to procedure. Calibrate measuring equipment, devices, production equipment and tools. Ensure calibrations occur according to agreed schedule for calibration. If required, assist with coordinating contracted calibration as required
Who you are
- High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED). Minimum of two (2) years in a manufacturing or professional environment. Ability to effectively communicate, understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to read and comprehend quality procedures, blueprints, and written instructions.
- Experience inspecting, auditing, and ensuring compliance with quality procedures and standards. Knowledge of and ability to use measuring equipment (ruler, calipers, etc.)
Position Competencies
Bend, lift, twist, sit and stand for long periods of time. Good eye and hand dexterity. Required lifting weight: Up to 35 lbs. daily. Ability to work in a cleanroom environment (up to 100% of the time). Team player that is willing to do what is required to get the jobs done and satisfy customers. Comfortable with change and continuous improvement
Work safety - according to all safety procedures. Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the manufacturing environment.
Enjoys solving problems – from definition through root cause analysis. Keen eye for quality – able to spot non-conformances on products and in processes versus quality standards, procedures and specifications. Keep detailed and accurate records – complete all necessary paperwork and documentation. Participate in continuous improvement/Kaizen activities as required
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
