Job Overview:
Dance Your Dreams Studio of Dance is currently seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Creative Dance Teacher. The ideal candidate will possess a deep love for children, a creative spirit, a proactive attitude, and excellent organizational skills. As a Dance Teacher, you will inspire and educate students through innovative and engaging dance instruction while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Currently, we are looking for individuals with proficient skills in Ballet, Hip Hop, and Acro. Experience with other styles is preferred and welcomed to apply!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate dance curriculum that encourages creativity, expression, and skill development. Curriculum provided by director or permitted to be designed yourself with approval from director.
- Plan and lead engaging dance classes for students of various ages and skill levels.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to explore their creativity.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students to help them improve their dance skills and confidence.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to coordinate performances, recitals, competitions, and other events.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to provide updates on progress, upcoming events, and any concerns.
- Stay informed about current trends and developments in dance education and incorporate new ideas and techniques into teaching practices.
- Incorporate a variety of teaching styles and techniques into lessons.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching dance to children and/or adolescents preferred.
- Proficiency in multiple dance styles and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about working with children.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and schedules.
Additional Requirements:
- Must undergo a background check.
- Availability to work evenings. Weekends may be required, as needed.
- Reliable transportation to and from the studio.
