Barista

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting delicious coffee beverages and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks following recipes and quality standards
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment
- Greet customers, take orders, and process payments accurately using a cash register
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and dining area
- Upsell products and offer recommendations to customers based on their preferences
- Handle food items such as pastries and sandwiches with care and adhere to food safety guidelines

- be willing to switch positions, we are looking for someone who can bake or cook when necessary

Skills
- ability to multitask and work well under pressure
- Strong customer service skills to engage with patrons in a friendly manner
- Experience with cash handling procedures and operating a cash register
- Knowledge of food handling practices in compliance with health regulations
- Familiarity with the food industry and understanding of coffee varieties

- Basic math skills for measurements and recipe preparation
- Time management abilities to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Passion for coffee and willingness to learn about different blends and brewing methods

Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role
- Proficiency in using POS systems, Square, Grubhub, and DoorDash
- Strong understanding of food safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with food preparation, handling, and service in a café or retail setting

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week

Work Location: In person
