Job Description

Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc, a leading-edge technology company in Tallahassee, Florida, is looking for a Calibration Technician. The hours for this position are Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 6:30 pm.

The Calibration Technician is responsible for performing gage calibrations and maintenance; maintaining the measurement equipment database; issuing and collecting gages to users and retrieving gages due for calibration/repair, in process CNC audits and other inspection activities as needed. Maintains quality records and utilizes gages, tools and measuring equipment. Generates NCRs and assists in containment of non-conforming product.

Our products are high speed, oil-free HVAC compressors using magnetic bearings, variable speed direct drive and digital control technologies. The ProductionTechnician will be responsible for mass-production of varying models of oil-free compressors by performing and participating in component parts preparation and line assembly operations.

Job Responsibilities

Performs calibration functions on all testing and measuring equipment throughout all Manufacturing operations.

  • Performs calibration according to written and automated procedures on measuring and testing equipment, tools, gauges, and fixtures as defined by the calibration schedule.
  • Coordinates the calibration with a certified outside source. Maintains clear and concise records to facilitate timely problem identification, development of department procedures and to comply with internal and external regulations.
  • Adjust and repair gages found to be out of tolerance.
  • Dispositions obsolete, broken, or otherwise unusable gages.
  • Support inspections for incoming and in process components and maintain the Quality Inspection System records.
  • Utilizes all gages, tools and measuring equipment required for Inspection support including providing measurements for blueprinting various components.
  • Evaluation of non-conforming product/materials that are not within specifications. Assist in coordinating non- conforming product to the proper areas awaiting disposition.
  • Observe all safety rules and maintains proper housekeeping using 5S techniques.
  • Understand and comply with Danfoss policies, procedures and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals and environmental well-being.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge of handheld inspection tools, micrometers, calipers and height gages.
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings including basic GD&T.
