Payroll Specialist is responsible for making sure employees are paid accurately and timely. They manage payroll functions, including adjustments, research on payment history, special payment runs. Payroll Specialist is responsible for reviewing and reconciliation of payroll accounts.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following
- Running and analyzing Time and Attendance Reports, verifying timesheets, Payroll Reports, Deduction Reports to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Conduct final payroll inspection for any identified mismatch or errors prior to payroll run
- Generate payroll reports including payroll registers, tax reports, statistical summary, and other ad hoc reports as needed. Analyze and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
- Perform special payroll related calculation such as but not limited to retroactive payments, time off accruals, overpayment, short-term or long term incentives
- Processing Payroll using UKG, processing instant checks as needed. Ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately on a weekly and biweekly basis
- Research payroll, garnishments, tax inquiries for our employees, managers, and business partners
- Monitor changes in payroll week over week and identify variances
- Month end close activities to include reconciliation of payroll accounts, journal entries, and posting
- Maintain compliance within payroll to ensure audit integrity
Required Qualifications
1 years of high volume payroll processing experience
2-year degree in related field
Proficient understanding of basic accounting principles including payroll, payroll taxes, and general ledger reconciliation
Mid-level knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
1 years of experience using payroll systems such as UGK, ADP, Ceridian, Oracle or Workday.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience using Dimensions with UKG
Experience managing payroll for large organizations
Familiarity with payroll regulations and compliance requirements
Job Criteria
Able to read, create, analyze spreadsheets
Knowledgeable of Ultimate Software now knows as UKG
Able to generate ad hoc reports using Business Intelligence
