Job Description
Danfoss Hydraulics Division is currently seeking a Shipping Clerk to join their expanding team! This is a 2nd shift position (12:10pm-8:35pm) and is based at our location in Eden Prairie, MN. You will work as a team with the primary purpose of maintaining a continuous flow of material through a manufacturing cell or work area, to meet customer requirements. You will promote continuous improvement to eliminate defects and improve the efficiency of the process.
We offer a $2,000 sign-on bonus! $22.01/hour starting pay ($21.26 per hour .75 cent shift differential) with progressions every 6 months up to 24 months, making $27.54 by 2024. Benefits day 1 and a Pension plan. No experience needed; training will be provided.
Job Responsibilities
- erforms a combination of shipping and receiving duties including incoming shipments of merchandise or other materials and check to see if they are dock to stock or is inspection required
- Verify completeness of shipment against bill of lading, invoices and other controls
- Report damaged goods or shortage of goods
- Ship goods from establishment, prepare records, complete bill of lading and post weight and shipping charges
- Gather proof of delivery for customer inquiries
- Generate customer invoices and customs paperwork for international shipments
- Organize and prioritize and execute daily tasks as well as take on special shipments that may develop on a moment's notice
- Work in a fast-paced, demanding customer service-oriented environment
- Load & Unload freight shipments on a dock-high van trailer or flatbed trailer
- Other duties as assigned, including training
This individual will model the Danfoss ethical conduct policy, the Danfoss Values and Philosophy, and comply with all other corporate, plant and regulatory polices and regulations as applicable. Support plant safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts, including in performing routine housekeeping/ 5S activities.
Background & Skills
- Required (basic) qualifications – HS diploma or GED
- Preferred qualifications
- 1 year manufacturing, shipping, or material handling experience, including forklift certification.
- Invoicing and freight carrier experience
- Job Criteria –
- Ability to consistently stand/walk and handle average weight materials. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to multitask critical items in a face paced environment
- Computer and administrative skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Great communication with internal and external parties
- Ability to complete simple mathematical calculations
- Ability to obtain forklift certification and operate a sit down and reach truck
