This position is responsible for the execution of programs to ensure that the Company provides a safe workplace for employees while ensuring environmental compliance activities on the manufacturing floor. This position assist with ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
The incumbent is successful through strong leadership, vision, and effective management and ensures these goals in a professional atmosphere that enhances Company economic viability.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Partners with EHS Manager in the implementation and completion of tasks related to environmental, health and safety compliance programs at the plant location.
- Assist with tasks that support regulation of waste from the manufacturing floor to ensure compliance with proper storage, labeling and disposal.
- Completes work related to sustainability and zero waste to landfill efforts at the facility.
- Enters claim data into systems as needed.
- Collaborates with plant leaders to provide environmental compliance of generated work streams.
- Prepares generated waste streams for proper disposal.
- Ensure new generated waste streams are labeled and stored correctly for proper disposal.
- Coordinates facility wide Eye wash inspections and issue work orders for needed repairs.
- Coordinates plant AED inspections and repairs.
- Coordinates facility wide fire extinguisher inspections and repairs.

- Must be adaptable and flexible.
- Works well under pressure, effectively handles conflict, strict deadlines, and multiple tasks
- Ability to assess and implement EHS best practices.
- Excellent organization, recordkeeping, and documentation skills.
- Education and Experience
- Environmental Health, Chemistry, or related field experience or in lieu of a degree, 3 plus years manufacturing experience with similar environmental duties or responsibilities. Basic knowledge EPA regulations, Virginia state requirements is a plus.
- Computer Skills
- Software including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and Lotus Notes, Office 365, Smartsheets.
