What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic/Shop Tech position at Danos?
Job Duties:
- Assist Shop Mechanic with the following:
- Performing routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotation, vehicle inspection, brake jobs, fluid level changes, etc.
- Repairing vehicles based on the diagnosed issues and repair.
- Test driving vehicles after repairs are complete to ensure mechanical soundness and to determine whether any other problems exist.
- Preparing trucks for field use and prepping for sale.
- Maintain the daily housekeeping of the shop area, including emptying of garbage cans, cleaning floors, ensuring shop items are properly stored, disposing of unwanted parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
- Run shop errands or to pick up parts.
- Comply with Danos safety guidelines and standards.
- Perform other duties as required to successfully meet the needs of the business.
Competencies:
- Good communication skills
- Ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Desire to learn basic mechanical preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Understanding of Importance of environmental and Safe Work Practices
Qualifications:
- One (1) year shop hand experience preferred; auto mechanic trade school and/or automotive technician training certificate highly preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a good driving record.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Candidate must within a 45-mile radius of the job site.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
