HOME REPAIR SPECIALIST - HANDYMAN

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Home Repair Specialist - Handy Man to join our team. As a Handy Man, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on mobile homes under the direction of owner’s representative. This is a full-time position with competitive pay.

Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as repairing plumbing systems, electrical systems, and HVAC units

- Drywall repairs, replace flooring, paint walls
- Conduct inspections to identify issues and recommend necessary repairs or replacements
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants
- Install and repair fixtures, equipment, and appliances
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders and document completed tasks
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
- Fabricate or weld components as needed
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and tenants
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage projects independently
- Mechanical knowledge and experience in troubleshooting and repairing various systems
- Proficiency in electrical work, including working with logic controllers
- Ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
- Capability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

TOOLS, EQUIPMENT & MACHINES:

Must provide own basic tools or be willing to obtain the necessary hand tools. Must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of the following:

Hand Tools: various wrenches, screwdrivers, grips, hammer, snips, sledgehammer, post hole diggers, saws, etc.

Power Tools: wrenches, grinder, sander, drill, saws, etc.

User-Moved Aids: wheelbarrows, dollies, hand trucks, buckets, hoists, jacks, stepladders, full ladders, double ladders, etc.

Mechanical Equipment: motors, pumps, compressors, blowers, electric and hand-powered augers, etc.

Measuring Devices: voltmeters, ohmmeters, testing meters, PH tests, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school equivalency or trade school plus at least five (5) years of applicable work experience

· Ability to read and understand written materials and communicate with others in writing

· Possess and maintain personal vehicle, such as a truck, SUV, van, or vehicle with towing capacity and a personal trailer (4’ x 6’ trailer), capable of moving tools, equipment, machinery, and materials for general maintenance and renovation work to and from job sites. In addition to the tools, equipment, and machinery identified in the section above, examples of materials transported include small lumber packages, 2’ x 4’ x 8’ lumber, bath fixtures, galvanized fence components, 4’ x 8’ sheets of plywood or drywall.

· Proof of liability insurance for personal vehicle and trailer, if applicable

· Valid driver’s license in state of residence

· Must be bondable

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Significant experience in plumbing, appliance repair, carpentry, and general maintenance repairs

Electrical knowledge

Knowledge of safety procedures. Safety conscious.

Steady and dependable

Ability to work with pressure of deadlines.

Ability to install or assemble by following instructions.

Ability to be flexible and change work schedule.

Finished drywall.

Travel may be required.
