About the Role:
As the Lead Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing our financial operations and guiding strategic financial direction. You will oversee a small team of accountants while ensuring adherence to rigorous accounting standards and collaborating on human resources activities.
Lead Accountant And HR- Logistics Brokerage Firm Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
a. Develop and execute financial strategies to support growth and profitability.
b. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts.
c. Oversee daily financial operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow management.
d. Manage payroll processing and potential bonus programs.
2. Financial Controls and Compliance:
a. Implement and enhance financial processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate financial reporting.
b. Safeguard against fraud and financial mismanagement.
3. Team Leadership:
a. Lead a team of accounting professionals, overseeing hiring, training, and performance reviews.
b. Manage basic HR activities such as onboarding and policy adherence.
4. Collaboration and Strategic Alignment:
a. Partner with operational departments to enhance financial performance and support logistics objectives.
b. Evaluate and manage financial risks related to market conditions and investments.
Qualifications:
· Required
o Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
o Prior experience leading accounting teams (2-5 members).
o Minimum 2 years using QuickBooks Online.
o Minimum 3 years in financial planning, budgeting, and compliance.
o Minimum 2 years overseeing HR activities.
o Strong knowledge of financial law, regulatory standards, and risk management.
o Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
o Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Preferred
o Master’s degree in finance, accounting, MBA, or CPA.
o Experience in logistics or transportation industries.
o Experience with ERP systems in logistics.
o Experience in mergers, acquisitions, or capital markets.
