Job Description
individual with Community support/Case management experience serving those who are homeless, inadequately housed or otherwise underserved. Must be comfortable with or receptive to working with those with mental illness and dually diagnosed with substance use disorders. Must be able to create structure and work within a system of care. Experience completing the V-SPADAT or some knowledge of the housing application process preferred.
- Candidate will assess housing need for each Consumer encountered
- Work within a committee to track consumer progress
- Interact with the Department of Behavioral Health on behalf of the agency and consumers.
- Facilitate and support with acquiring housing resources
- Provide training to some staff members
- Complete consumer training and groups if needed to make housing ready
Complete all other duties as assigned to secure housing and ensure advocacy for those threatened with evictions or other situations that could result in housing loss.
Qualifications
Community support experience, Housing experience, ability to navigate the Washington DC area geographically and by interacting with those who have access to housing opportunities that those who are unhoused would benefit from.
