Leader (Director)- Indirect Procurement

The Leader (Director) of Indirect Procurement (MRO) will be responsible for leading and managing the indirect sourcing team across all manufacturing and warehouse locations with a spend of $100M . This person will define and execute the indirect procurement strategic goals, aligned with broader procurement goals and policies, as well as the business strategy, to drive improvements, growth, margin, and cash-flow improvements through a high performing team and as an individual contributor. The role requires high degree of business acumen and partnership across the different business functions to connect, implement, and manage supplier agreements while ensuring compliance with policies and processes.

• Key Responsibilities
  • Establish category strategies across key spend areas including MRO, Indirect Packaging, Chemicals, and Utilities. Incorporate spend insights, expectations from the cross functional stakeholders and market intelligence to ensure strong satisfaction through sourcing, planning, working capital performance and purchasing of quality materials at a competitive price.
  • Execute excellence in RFIs, RFPs, should-cost modelling, negotiation, specification optimization, contracting and performance management.
  • Develop spend visibility, management, and reporting.
  • Establish a culture of cross functional teams to drive value creation initiatives.
  • Standardize and optimize indirect spend across manufacturing and warehouse locations considering their individual needs.
  • Foster partnership with suppliers to create win-win environment and leverage capabilities to drive safety, quality, service, cost, and sustainability goals.
  • Benchmark and establish procurement KPIs (e.g., commodity risk management, cost savings, Return-on-investment, cash flow improvements, supply risk management, supplier performance management, capacity creation and supplier driven innovation) to deliver top tier performance supporting business growth, margin, and cash flow expectations.
  • Ensure “buy-in” from key stakeholders for major initiatives and targets.
  • Establish a motivated high-performance culture within the Indirect Procurement environment.
  • Build people capability through individual development plans, performance plans, career, and growth aspirations.
  • Build and implement Indirect Procurement SOP’s, policies, and processes to standardize, streamline, and drive accountably, clarity, and compliance.
  • Proactively identify procurement risks and mitigation actions.
  • Ensure compliance to company policies (e.g., financial policies, procurement policies, confidentiality, and risk management policies) and communication of policies to suppliers and stakeholders to minimize risks.
  • Track and communicate key material markets that impact spend areas and implement mitigation strategies to address inflationary impact.
  • Compliance to external regulations and requirements for respective categories.
• Selection Criteria
  • Education and Experience Required
    • Undergraduate in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration; MBA preferred.
    • Prior experience in manufacturing operations is considered as an asset.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Food/CPG industry.
