What are the responsibilities and job description for the P2-Ramp Non-CDL position at Darling Ingredients Inc.?
Job Summary:
Maintain safe and productive operation of ramp area. Clean work area. Load or unload trailer as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Efficient loading or unloading of trailers as assigned.
- Coordinate the movement of trailers around the yard as needed.
- When unloading, perform proper pit selection based on material type.
- Safely operate equipment used such as overhead cranes or use of the Bartlett for unloading trailers.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Expected to perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position will typically not supervise another position
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to drive tractor trailers on the yard safely and pick up trailers to dump.
- Ability to read instructions on chemical containers and SDS.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to move 55 gallon drums weighing 450 pounds using hand truck.
- Bending and stooping.
- Work at heights of at least 12 feet.
- Climb stairs frequently.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Typical industrial plant work environment. Ability to work both inside and outside, in a damp environment 80% of the time. Must be willing to work all shifts including over-time and weekends as needed.
