SUMMARY:
The Mobile Applications Quality Analyst position works within the application development group translating client/product features into requirements and acceptance criteria for mobile application development projects. The incumbent in this position will possess in-depth knowledge of the testing of mobile applications to ensure that mobile applications are functioning correctly on various device (iOS and Android) including multiple generations of devices. The position requires a thorough understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and the acceptance criteria related to mobile application development.
The position involves regular interaction with cross-functional application development teams, product owners, clients, and various departments within DRC. The position requires collaboration across all IT domains and business units, and requires excellent communication and relationship management skills to influence teams and clients to successfully implement mobile applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop testing plans and strategies for efficiently testing mobile applications that are repeatable.
- Analyze and translate system requirements and acceptance criteria against iOS and Android mobile device operating systems.
- Provide automated testing strategies to mobile device testing using automated testing frameworks where applicable.
- Provide manual testing strategies across numerous mobile devices to ensure that screen resolution, click areas, drop downs, navigation, etc. are adequate to create a great user experience.
- Analyze system problems, propose testing strategies, and provide recommendations to application development teams and architects about mobile application use cases and end user scenarios.
- Analyze software requirements and software quality testing results to ensure requirements have been met.
- Analyze data from application logs or databases to ensure error handling and messaging is adequate.
- Provide consistent and effective project status to IT leadership and DRC business stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 years software testing, system analysis, or software development experience.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Experience:
- 2 years of EdTech industry experience is preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Atlassian, Google suite, and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with iOS and Android mobile devices.
- Familiarity with automated testing platforms and tools (Appium, Selenium, etc.).
- Ability to consistently perform well during times of increased workload.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Other duties as needed
