About the Privacy & Security Team
The Privacy & Security team at Databook takes security procedures very seriously. We are passionate about securing the privacy of all aspects of the business and are committed to creating the most robust and secure platform for our users.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a data privacy and information security expert to assist in our security and compliance activities. Data privacy and information security is a key priority for Databook and touches on many aspects of our business and product. This role reports to our Privacy & Security Manager and will provide many opportunities for collaboration and cooperation with different teams in the company.
Specifically you will:
- Manage security and privacy compliance projects (e.g. SOC 2, GDPR) across multiple teams including product, engineering, operations and IT in partnership with the Security & Privacy Manager.
- Support the sales and customer success teams to explain Databook's privacy and security stance to prospects and customers.
- Complete and update a Data Protection Impact Assessment and other security assessments
- Vet new vendors for data privacy compliance.
- Train employees on compliance guidelines, requirements, and standards.
- Compile and analyze both internal and external information to prepare compliance audit data
About you
- 2 years of experience in a privacy and security compliance role
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Relevant data privacy or information security certification (e.g. CIPP, CIPM) or willingness to get within six months of hire
- Strong knowledge of industry compliance standards as they relate to Software as a Service, such as SOC2, GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA
- Superb attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to gain consensus and keep projects moving forward

Ideal candidates will also have:
- Experience of working at a start-up and an understanding of Software as a Service businesses
- Background in software engineering
- Legal experience or qualifications
