The Opportunity
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Databook, you will work horizontally across other engineering teams to establish and solidify the SRE mentality in the organization. You'll propose, design and implement tools, techniques, and frameworks to improve the reliability, scalability, and resiliency of our systems. What you'll do
- Automate everything: deploys, rollbacks, provisioning, failovers, testing, common tasks and everything in between.
- Design and implement monitoring tooling that will be used to optimize systems for uptime, performance, and reliability.
- Design and write tests that investigate how our infrastructure handles failure and scaling.
- Build nontrivial internal tooling to support and enable engineering workflows.
- Research hot-off-the-press CVEs and implement best practices that protect our users.
- Refine and expand our incident response best practices, ensuring that engineers, including yourself, are able to respond efficiently when incidents do occur.
About You
- 6 years hands-on software engineering on large scale, high performance, customer facing web based systems.
- 3 years focused specifically as an SRE.
- A deep understanding of distributed system observability.
- Familiarity with all aspects of software development from architecture to deployment and maintenance
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code and configuration management.
- Familiarity with design, deployment, and monitoring of cloud native applications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, similar technical field or considerable relevant experience.

- Ability to think abstractly and deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills.
