Databricks is looking for a Professional Services Strategy and Operations Manager to join our high-impact, inspired Go-to-Market (GTM) team that moves Professional Services strategy and planning, delivers strategic analyses and instills operational rigor to our successful & fast-growing PS business. You have a passion for driving key objectives for the business and turning data-driven insights into actions. This person excels at balancing strategic planning with execution and is very comfortable getting their hands dirty.
You will use data and qualitative information to help PS Leadership manage the business. The initial focus area will be to analyze and support the professional services business, including reporting average selling prices and attach rates by service offering, and margin analysis by service offering. You will also focus on reporting all aspects of our GTM design and annual sales planning process for the professional services business. In this capacity you will help build and improve our data and analytics foundation including executive reporting, health of business reviews, dashboards, and KPIs.
The impact you will have:
You should have experience with and enjoy building operational and financial models, analyzing large and complex data sets, and improving our processes and tools. You will be working highly cross-functionally with our PS, Finance, Data, Marketing, Order Ops, and other GTM teams.
- Be a trusted business partner to the PS Professional Services Leadership by defining, tracking, and implementing business objectives, initiatives, strategies, tactics, and processes that scale
- Analyze and recommend program changes to optimize the attach rate for professional services products
- Drive annual GTM planning process (FY and long-range modeling, investment ROI analysis, HC planning, quota and capacity setting, territory planning and carve)
- Utilize data to help our business partners identify where to invest resources to extract growth opportunities efficiently
- Lead executive analyses, strategies, and deliverables (e.g., board materials, QBR)
- Provide visibility and performance tracking to the business (health of business reviews, rep. efficiency and productivity KPIs, dashboards)
- Help to build, maintain, and improve our data and reporting foundation
- Drive operational efficiency by automating and improving processes, tools, and dashboards that scale
- Support special business projects. Structure business problems, evaluate options, implement actionable recommendations, track success, and educate stakeholder
What we look for:
You will also focus on reporting all aspects of our GTM design and annual sales planning process for the professional services business. In this capacity you will help build and improve our data and analytics foundation including executive reporting, health of business reviews, dashboards, and KPIs.
- 5 years of sales strategy & operations experience (MBA, investment banking, strategy consulting, FP&A, business operations, Enterprise/Mid-Market SaaS experience a plus)
- Strategic thinker and driver. Strong analytical skills and business acumen. Ability and passion to analyze, set priorities, and solve complex business problems
- Effective, clear, and concise communication skills, verbal and written. Propensity to synthesize complex concepts and data and present clear information to executives, cross-functional teams, and internal customers
- Data expert: analysis (Excel), summarizing (pivot tables, charts, slides, written explanation), reporting (dashboards, repositories). You will have SQL querying experience or willing to learn SQL.
- Process expert: Ability to envision E2E process change to solve business needs, drive alignment, document requirements, drive execution in partnership with IT, perform UAT, enable business stakeholders at scale and report on progress
- Results-driven self-starter with the ability to multitask. Strong initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment with a "can do" attitude and growth mindset
- Detail-oriented with experience with organization and process improvement. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while dealing with ambiguity
- Exceptional interpersonal and influence skills. Experience driving cross-functional projects end-to-end. Ability to negotiate priorities across organizations at all levels
