Job Title: Finance Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW
Our company is seeking a dedicated Finance Specialist to join our team. The Finance Specialist will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support in the completion of application/claim processes and federal special education reporting for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part B. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of finance principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field [official transcripts required upon hire];
- Three (3) years’ experience in finance, accounting, or school finance;\
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of relevant experience for each year of the required education.

- Knowledge & Expertise: Possess an in-depth comprehension of federal regulations and guidelines governing special education funding under IDEA, Part B, encompassing eligibility criteria, allowable expenses, reporting requirements, and compliance standards. Demonstrate proficiency in financial management principles and practices, including budgeting, forecasting, expenditure tracking, and financial analysis. Exhibit the ability to interpret financial data effectively and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Compliance: Ensure meticulous preparation and submission of required federal reports pertaining to special education funding, meticulously adhering to accuracy and compliance with federal regulations.
- Technical Assistance: Offer comprehensive technical assistance and guidance to school districts and educational agencies in Oklahoma regarding the completion of application/claim processes for federal funding under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part B.
- Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with internal teams to develop and maintain resources, tools, and training materials designed to support school districts in navigating federal funding requirements for special education. Actively engage in meetings, conferences, and training sessions to augment professional knowledge and skills pertinent to finance and special education funding.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies aimed at enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency in the administration of special education funding.

TRAVEL
