What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle technician position at DATTCO?
Primary responsibilities
- Install / troubleshoot 12 volt and 24-volt electronics (cameras, GPS tracking, telematics, 2-way radios) on DATTCO and / or customer vehicles
- Accurately record and report information regarding installs / repairs
- Owns and maintains the proper hand tools to perform job functions
- Position may require flexible shifts (weekends, overtime, and / or overnight)
- Position may require travel
- Responsible for ordering and controlling inventory levels
Minimum requirements :
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must hold a valid RI driver’s license
- Previous 12v / 24v installation and service experience
- Moderate to advanced knowledge of vehicle electronics concepts such as GPS, relays and video systems
- School bus / coach bus experience preferred
- Availability to work weekends / overnights / overtime as required
- Able to travel to DATTCO locations in Rhode Island as well as to our headquarters in New Britain, CT
- Technician will be required to supply their own tools for this position
- Must possess the physical strength and conditioning to safely perform all required tasks
- Must possess excellent computer skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be a self-starter
- Be able to pass a background check and drug test
