Under the general direction of the GIS Implementation Manager, the GIS Solution Architect will
assist the Implementation Department in developing solutions and documentation to support
project goals. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the development of databases,
workflows, QA/QC processes, and creating a deliverable design. In addition, this position will
include providing hardware and software recommendations, assisting with the development of
scripts, performing maintenance, and monitoring of project specifics.
- Develop, implement, install, configure and test hardware and software needed tosupport assigned internal and external projects.
Assist in the maintenance and organization of the GIS data structure.
Publish web services needed to support assigned project requirements utilizing ArcGIS
Server Manager, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, and ArcGIS Online.
Develop & Manage project web map applications using Web AppBuilder, AppStudio, and other development environments.
Assist with the development of scripts used to automate processes and improveefficiencies using ModelBuilder, Python, SQL, and others.
Administer ArcGIS Server, Enterprise, Portal, and ArcGIS Online for Davey and its clients.
Performs administrative tasks & database alterations for Enterprise Geodatabases and other relational databases as needed to support project requirements and Daveyinitiatives.
Interpret and understand client source data for the purpose of disseminating to teammembers and determining suitability to support project requirements.
Provide leadership and technical guidance to Davey GIS and IT professionals as well asclients.
Assist team members in developing technical skill sets, capabilities, & motivation.
Attend meetings as requested.
Perform regular appraisal of implemented solutions performance and devise strategiesto help with improvement.
Listen to team members' feedback and provide recommendations to resolve any issuesor conflicts.
Facilitate problem solving and collaboration.
Ensure deliverables are prepared to satisfy the project requirements, cost, andschedule.
Attend client setup meetings (5-10% travel)
Provide technical support to clients onsite and remote according to projectrequirements. (5% or less travel)
Review completed tasks to ensure yielded results fall within project-specific standards.
Coordinate with other departments for projects and troubleshooting.
Conducts a variety of analysis related to the development and implementation ofassigned projects; evaluates alternatives, makes recommendations and presents reports/findings to internal & external parties as necessary.
Assists GIS Implementation Manager with administration of software and GIS-relatedneeds.
Assists in performing software Implementation and upgrades.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work inGIS, geography, planning, civil engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Preferred five years of experience in the design, implementation, and administration ofenterprise GIS using the ESRI product line including ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcSDE, and ArcGIS Desktop.
Preferred three years of experience in the design, implementation, and administration ofenterprise databases with a focus on SQL Server.
Preferred at least one-year experience managing and administering Microsoft WindowsServer, Active Directory, and Internet Information Server (IIS).
Preferred experience configuring and managing cloud solutions such as Azure or AWS.
Management experience leading a team.
Motivated, focused, hard-working, and eager to learn.
Experience in database administration, relational database design, and implementationwith a focus on Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience with Esri ArcGIS product suite and other GIS related software such as Google
Earth, QGIS, AutoCAD, and Microstation.
Experience using ArcGIS Collector, Survey123, or other field data collection software.
Experience developing scripts using Python, ModelBuilder, and/or SQL.
Experience creating web apps using Esri Web AppBuilder, Esri Configurable templatesand/or JavaScript as well as HTML and CSS.
Experience with utility distribution networks including electrical, sanitary sewer, water,stormwater and natural gas.
Knowledge of asset management solutions such as Futura, Millsoft, Elements, andCityWorks
Knowledge of ArcFM, Esri Utility Network, and Geometric Network.
Understanding of web services which can be produced and served by Esri ArcGIS Server, Portal, and Online

GISP - GIS Certified Professional
Esri Desktop Professional
Esri Enterprise System Design Associate
Esri Enterprise Geodata Management Professional
Microsoft Certified Professional (SQL Server or Windows Server)
Candidates must be comfortable working full time with a minimum of 40 - 45 hours per week. Compensation based on experience.
