Merchandise Manager Position Overview

As a Merchandise Manager you wear two hats at Davidson’s, not only as the buyer of products but also as a promoter of the products internally and externally. You will work cohesively with our sales and marketing departments to execute multiple forms of advertising campaigns, sales promotions, events, dealer communications, and product training sessions. You will also serve as a primary point of contact between Davidson’s and its suppliers, cultivating and nurturing the relationships while negotiating and securing the most favorable payment, pricing, and delivery terms for our company.

Merchandise Manager Responsibilities Include:

• Identifying, purchasing, and promoting profitable products within the company’s identified product categories

• Negotiating special pricing incentives and agreements with suppliers

• Monitoring and seeking improvement in the supplier product fulfillment,
• Demonstrating teamwork, flexibility, and a dedication to the overall company’s team performance
• Establishing growth targets and strategies for your product lines

Merchandise Manager Pay & Benefits:

The Ideal Merchandise Manager Candidate Would Possess

• A solid understanding the firearms industry and a passion for firearms
• Preferred five (5) years’ experience as a Merchandise Manager within the sporting goods industry
• Ability to travel up to 25% of time spent to trade shows and vendor meetings
• Ability to communicate in a professional and articulate manner with internal and external contacts at all levels
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and experience with Purchasing Systems
