Stock Clerk/Cashier

Responsibilities:

• Stock and organize merchandise on store shelves
• Ability to work independently as needed
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock product as requested or needed
• Communicate with team members to ensure efficient stocking process
• Properly clean and sanitize work areas as needed
• Operate cash register for sales transactions
• Perform the task of cashier when scheduled or as needed
• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience
• Greet each customer and uses his or her name whenever possible
• Assist customers with locating and selecting products
• Unload customers’ groceries from basket to counter for ease of bagging/boxing such as grouping cold/dry items together
• Scan customers' order and handles the payment transaction
• Avoid personal conversations with other associates when customers are present
• Follow procedures in handling cash, checks, coupons, gift cards/certificates
• Follow procedures for refunds and error correction
• Make every attempt to maintain accurate cash control
• Follow procedures and performs overrides
• Report any register malfunction to the Store Manager
• Identify customers needing assistance and offers to take the customer’s order to their vehicle (if applicable).
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers per service standards
• Check prices quickly and accurately
• Is respectful, courteous and helpful to other associates
• Wear the Davinci apron, complete with name badge during store hours and has a neat and clean appearance
• Ensure work station and front-end area of the store has a neat and clean presentation
• Observe and correct all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents
• Ensure front end is fully stocked with all necessary packing materials including bags and boxes for prompt checkout
• Find more efficient ways to do the job and seeks to reduce costs and improve labor productivity
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work
• Effective communication and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and reaching
• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is beneficial

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform job functions
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions, crouching or kneeling
• Bend and lift products weighing up to 10 lbs. continuously, 15 lbs. frequently, and 30 lbs. on occasion
• Pull or push up to 50 lbs. on occasion
• Stand 100% of the time, frequently walking short distances
• Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level and above shoulder or below waist level
• Tolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 5 minutes at a time
• Ability to use computers, smart devices, and other communication systems required to perform job functions
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions
• Pull or push up to 75 lbs. on occasion
• Use hands to frequently/continuously handle currency (paper and coin) as well as operate a variety of equipment such as cash register, scanner, computer, and calculator
• Meet established volume activity standards for the position
• Have sufficient visual ability to check ID cards, checks, and other written documents
