This Food Manufacturing Sanitor position will be based at our Seattle, WA manufacturing facility. We are currently hiring for Swing Shift.
About the Job
This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.
Must have open availability to work overtime if needed.
Swing Shift Monday-Friday (2pm - 10:30p)
As a Sanitor, you will be responsible for the sanitation of the dry mix plant and the upkeep of the grounds surrounding the facility. Our Sanitors adhere to all sanitation standards established by IFS and Food Safety Policies, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and our Plant Safety Policies.
What Does It Take to be a Sanitor at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions in English to follow safety precautions
- Able to work as part of a team
- Must be flexible with shifts, days and hours; be able to work overtime and weekends with limited notification
- Experience with GMP's, IFS Standards, understand HACCP programs and plant safety preferred
- Previous experience in plant sanitation preferred
- Ability to perform and demonstrate lock out tag out on equipment authorized to LOTO preferred
- Forklift certified or have the ability to become forklift certified
- Able to work effectively in situations involving heights
What You'll Do as a Food Safety Sanitor
- Perform general facility cleaning and upkeep duties as assigned and in an efficient and effective manner.
- Adhere to all company safety, food safety and sanitation policies.
- Keep sanitation tools, equipment, cleaning solutions, etc. clearly marked, organized and safely stored.
- Report malfunction of equipment immediately to EC/Maintenance Manager.
- Perform all assignments in accordance with established policies, procedures and best practices with specific adherence to SOPs, GMPs, IFS standards and safety programs, reporting safety hazards to people or product.
- Demonstrate the "Dawn Values" of Team Dawn and supports the Circle of Excellence.

- Physical duties involved in performing this position include but are not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, bending, standing, crouching, reaching overhead and climbing.
- This position requires proper sanitation of the equipment, filters, tools and mechanical parts.
- Team members must also be able to lift 2-50 lbs on a consistent basis. Position requires constant and continuous support of production and other departments.
- Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut productions, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, soy, seafood and shellfish.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
- Temperature fluctuates with the season - colder during the winter/warmer during the summer
- Working around heavy machinery - Hearing protection required in production area
