Assistant Project Manager
Annual Salary- $80,000 - $98,000
Job Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of assigned projects. They will support the Project Manager in various tasks throughout all stages of the construction process, from proposal development to project closeout. The projects may include both design-build and bid build contracts, with a range of budgets from $1M to $20M.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and foster teamwork within the project execution team.
- Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor project progress.
- Read and understand project design documents, including specifications, drawings, and contracts.
- Manage RFI's, responses to comments, and project deliverables.
- Handle submittal submission and tracking.
- Attend project meetings, take notes, and create meeting minutes.
- Prepare reports on project task status for project management.
- Assist in schedule development and execution.
- Support subcontractor outreach, procurement, certified payroll collection and tracking, payment applications, and invoice reviews.
- Assist in the development of work plans and safety plans.
- Ensure adherence to safety practices and procedures in all work areas.
- Coordinate and supervise project staff and subcontracted workers.
- Produce high-quality work products in compliance with company quality control protocols.
- Prepare written reports and other project-related documents.
- Assist in project budget creation, financial tracking, and monthly reviews.
- Aid in proposal efforts, including site visits, project and technical write-ups, quantity take-offs, and subcontractor outreach.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Communicate with clients as needed.
- Maintain a positive reputation by embodying values and principles with colleagues, clients, and others.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role has limited supervisory responsibilities, assigned by project management on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Construction Management or Engineering, or a minimum of four years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education.
- 2-4 years of project management experience, preferably in federal design or construction.
- Active or ability to obtain United States Clearance (Secret is Minimum Requirement).
- Project Management Professional certification is preferred.
Additional Skills Required:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong time management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Scheduling Programs (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
- Ability to utilize government project management software (USACE RMS3.0, NAVFAC eCMS, PIEE, ProjNet) for managing government contracts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work remotely as needed.
