Full Job Description
Day County drivers will operate a truck and trailer equipped to haul Fuel. All duties of the Driver are to be performed consistent with Company operating procedures to maximize the safety of all personnel at the work site and to efficiently perform the task.Must have a valid Class A CDL drivers’ license with HazMat & Tanker endorsements required for the type of vehicle operated.The company also requires for applicants to pass a drug screen, MVR check, FMCSA Clearing house and background check. Physical Demands that require standing, walking, and sitting while working either indoors or outdoors. While performing the job, will be required to lift/carry, pull/push, reach, squat, kneel, and/or climb ladders or stairs. All employees are required to know the Company’s Employee Handbook & Safety Policy. Must have the applicable knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations as required for the position.May have to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and nights as required for the position. Must be knowledgeable of Fuel and related equipment associated with the trucking of Fuels.
Minimum Requirements:
- Class A commercial driver's license required.
- Tank and HazMat endorsements required.
- Current review of 1-to-2-year medical card and physical long forms.
- 1 year’s liquid hauling driving experience in Class A vehicle within the last 3 years required.
- Ability to work with sections of hose that may exceed 20' in length, measures 4' in diameter, and lift as much as 50lbs occasionally.
- Ability to couple hoses to connect and disconnect hoses.
- Ability to drive truck off road, on roads that are narrow and have steep inclines.
- Ability to properly install tire chains in snowy, icy, and muddy conditions.
- Ability to safely climb ladders and walk on top of truck tanks.
- Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods.
- Ability to pass DOT pre-employment screenings including but not limited to DOT drug test, MVR, Physical, Background, Inspection Report, Clearinghouse, and CMV road test.
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
