We’re looking for a full-time, staff Manager- Safety, Health, & Security to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Parsons, KS.
As the Manager- Safety, Health, & Security, here’s the work you’ll do:
- Prepares, approves and implements comprehensive safety, health and security procedures in accordance with regulatory agencies, with particular emphasis on explosives safety, industrial hygiene, health physics and radiation protective programs.
- Directs and coordinates all phases of the Health and Safety Program that provides a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel at the facility. Oversight of Work Comp Program.
- Performs inspections of installation operations including production, mechanical, material transportation and subcontractor work to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Reviews new proposals that require comments from the Safety Department. Reviews changes in Preliminary Hazard Analyses, Management of Change, Standard Operating Procedures, Engineering Orders, Drawings, Safety Proposals and Suggestions along with equipment, new construction and equipment modifications
- Plans, schedules and coordinates activities of the Security Department effectively utilizing security personnel in performance of assigned activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the following areas: Physical Security, Access Control thru Key & Lock and credentials management. Ensure compliance with ATF, DSS and Homeland Security regulations
- Develops schedules to ensure requirements are completed relative to radiation protection, industrial hygiene and explosives safety. Maintains updated regulations and standards related to safety and safe work practices (e.g. ANSI standards) Collects, reviews and disseminates data concerning the accident experience of the facility. Conducts accident investigations that involve a cross-functional team to discover root cause and corrective actions that will reduce or eliminate recurrence of incident.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related experience
- 8 years of related experience preferred
- Certified Safety Professional preferred
- Explosives Safety experience preferred
- Valid drivers license
- Great attitude and team player.
- Successful completion of background screening process.
And if you have these qualifications:
- Communicates with impact - clearly and consistently gets information across in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing
- Thorough knowledge of recordkeeping requirements, injury reporting, the types and kinds of movements and activities that subject workers to injury and discomfort
- Ability to evaluate Safety practices, procedures, programs, attitudes, and awareness to recommend methods of improvement
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills. Results oriented. Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work and influence in a team environment
- Knowledge of applicable regulations to include DoD 4145.26, OSHA industry and construction standards, and Security Regulations to include ATF, Homeland Security and DSS
