Summary
The purpose of this position is to lead a maintenance department in order to conduct many types of maintenance on various machines to ensure the continuous operation of equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains equipment in processing section of the plant.
- Performs preventative maintenance on processing equipment.
- Performs general maintenance tasks to include: plumbing, electrical wiring, hook-up, and installation of equipment and systems.
- Assists with pre-op assembly in the morning or post-op procedures in the evening.
- Directs and trains personnel including new hires.
- Participate in the selection process when new maintenance personnel are needed.
- Builds and maintains maintenance system database.
- Identifies/orders required parts for maintenance tasks.
- Creates and maintains maintenance personnel schedules at both Mad River and Farm 3.
- Maintains documents to create trends and graphing utilizing the computer systems.
- Lead special projects within the processing plant.
- Attend weekly processing meetings.
- Assist with creating work orders utilizing the Preventative Maintenance (PM Program).
- Adhere to food safety policies, GMPs, and HACCP.
- Rotating on-call after hours.
- Others duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Technical/Vocational/Associate/Bachelor Degree in maintenance related field.
- Four or more years in a lead/supervisory maintenance role or equivalent.
- Experience in a Food Processing plant is helpful, but not necessary.
- One to two years’ experience in Windows based systems and programs including MS office.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong mechanical/electrical/engineering aptitude.
- HVAC-R helpful.
- Good troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
- Must be able to prioritize and work productively in a multi-tasking environment.
- Candidates that are detailed-oriented and accurate are preferred.
- Ability to lead a team/strong supervisory and people skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to learn several associated jobs
- Project management.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred
Physical Demands
Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and water, and chemicals. Temperature is regulated for operations standards. Cooler temperatures occur in specific areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions. Employees are required to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) due to working in a food manufacturing environment (hairnets, clean clothes, etc.).
