JOB TITLE: Prevocational Services Assistant
CLASSIFICATION: Part Time, Non-Exempt
PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT: Vocational Services
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Supervisor of Community Employment
POSITION SUMMARY: Assists people with disabilities to achieve their person-centered goals by coordinating and implementing prevocational activities that improve their work performance and prepare them for paid work or volunteer activity. Provides assistance in daily operations to ensure person-centered services are provided to all individuals. Facilitates job readiness activities that address worker soft skills, workplace expectations, discovery and identification of vocational goals, and the development of skills that enhance employability and promote choice. Meets regulatory requirements by completing and submitting documentation and collection of behavioral data accurately, timely, and according to established procedures. May provide supervision of work center cafeteria area, lunchtime assistance, bus duty with attendance data entry, transportation coordination, and assistance with personal hygiene care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education, Training & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Education, Training & Experience:
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities

Ability to work and maintain a positive and respectful working relationship with team members, advocates, external contacts and off-site team members
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Ability to work independently and effectively balance multiple tasks
Has strong organizational skills

Ability to empower the people we serve to do for themselves
