Dayton Christian School (DCS) is seeking a High School Intervention Specialist for the 2024-25 School Year. This individual will provide services and educational programs under IDEA for students identified with special needs. Services may be provided through one-on-one intervention, small groups, and inclusion classes.
The High School Intervention Specialist must be able to maintain records and progress monitoring based on IEP/ISP goals and objectives, as well as complete monthly service records that are required for those students enrolled in the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship program under the JPSN guidelines/law. The candidate must possess the strong ability to integrate our Christian faith into daily teaching. Special Education faculty meet the needs of the students through their IEP/ISP goals and objectives and 504 Plans with spiritual maturity and sensitivity to each student with the goal of enabling the student to reach his/her fullest academic, physical, social/emotional, and behavioral potential.
Qualifications for our new High School Intervention Specialist include being a born-again believer and having a bachelor’s degree. Applicant must possess a current Intervention Specialist license with the State of Ohio or obtain one prior to the beginning of the school year. Strong communication and organizational skills. Creative teaching abilities. Excellent knowledge of student development and the latest education theories and practices.
