DB Engineering is looking for an Owners’ representative for a high-profile client. Represent client’s interests throughout development, design, construction, and facility operations for a new building. Responsibilities include design peer review, coordination of the design and construction teams, lead project meetings, track design and construction issues, provide recommendations and facility issue resolution.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000

Responsibilities: 
  • Represent the Owner’s interests throughout development, design, construction and facility operations for a new building
  • Work and coordinate with the customer, external design and construction teams (Architect, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical)
  • Facilitate and lead project meetings, produce meeting minutes, track and log issues
  • Represent the owner at construction meetings
  • Peer review of MEP systems and controls designs in compliance with project goals and objectives, client standards, local and state codes, and certifications to include LEED, RESET and WELL
  • Employ a holistic approach to system evaluation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and recommend solutions
  • Coordinate and manage 3rd party Commissioning Provider on behalf of the owner.
  • Review and evaluate commissioning plan and functional tests to meet Code/LEED/Utility Rebate and Owner requirements.
  • Identify, log and track field and commissioning issues to closure.
  • Provide systems start-up guidance
  • Participate in factory equipment acceptance testing
  • Provide Intelligent and Smart building technology application and submittal reviews
  • Review project estimates and scopes of work that create value and meet client needs
  • Manage project labor and travel expenses, timelines and client expectations.
  • This is an in-person/onsite position residing in our Client’s office environment, job site trailers and construction sites
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor or post graduate Degree or equivalent experience in related field.
  • 7 – 10 years of mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Project and/or construction management experience is a plus
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet scheduled deadlines
  • Ability to plan, lead and manage, organize and communicate with team members and clients
  • Ability to develop and write project proposals
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience as a mechanical engineer designing, analyzing and optimizing HVAC and building controls systems
  • Employ a holistic approach to system evaluation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and recommend solutions
  • Familiarity with building electrical systems
  • Possess an understanding and application of the state and local mechanical and energy code requirements and LEED, RESET and WELL certifications
  • Understanding of intelligent/smart building platforms
  • Understanding of building operational technologies: BMS, EMS, lighting, IoT etc
  • Familiarity with naming conventions, fault detection and diagnostics expressions for various HVAC equipment types.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Proficient/Familiar with construction management software
  • Familiar with data visualization tools including Excel, Power Query, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power Bi
