Summary
The Communications Specialist is a creative multi-tasker with excellent communication skills that will develop internal and external communications for Daybreak Foods, Inc. This role will be the voice of Daybreak Foods, ensuring that communication is consistent and reflects the organization’s culture. This role will be responsible for creating effective internal and external communications strategies for our company.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Communications
- Work with all work sites to brainstorm ideas for new content opportunities
- Draft internal communications on behalf of various departments communicating organizational changes, policies, benefits information and announcements
- Development of PowerPoint presentations, charts, infographics and other visual and written communications
- Customize content and manage software for digital message boards to communicate across locations
- Write, update, develop and curate content for website
- Maintain the company’s values and adhere to the company’s usual style guide
- Assist in writing content for the development of training materials
- Assist in the planning and execution of HR meetings including materials development
External Communications
- Develop recruitment collateral including flyers, posters, yard signs, banners etc.
- Create marketing materials as needed for trade shows and customer communications
- Develop daily social media content in alignment with the social media strategy for Facebook, LinkedIn and job boards
- Monitor our channels for likes, comments and messages. Interact with company followers and track metrics to drive engagement

Education and/or Experience
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in communications or marketing or equivalency and 2-5 years of progressive experience in an office environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience with Digital messaging, Adobe Creative Cloud, Visme, Constant Contact and PowerPoint desired
- Understands the importance of creating a single voice for the organization across all media
- Ability to speak, read and write Spanish is desired
- Works effectively in a team environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- PC skills to include: MS Office software, such as Excel and Word, and ability to learn other systems as needed
Physical Demands
- Sit, use keyboard, use fine manipulation with hands and fingers. Lift up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment
- Clean, temperature controlled environment. Noise level is low. No personal protective equipment needed.
