The position is responsible to perform general maintenance of the highway maintenance project assigned as a Lead, with assignments including but not limited to:
Assist motorist with first aid at crash scenes
Review Maintenance Technician crew reports
Assist Maintenance technicians in the dissemination of training information
Provide and assist with detecting performance deficiencies of operators
Monitor safety and make recommendations regarding needed changes and improvements of field operations while working within the guidelines and directives set forth by the FHWA Field Operation Guide and company contract
Assist with the interview, hiring, and training process and documentation
Oversee the installing, removing and modifying guardrail along highways and roads in compliance with project plans and specifications.
Oversee crew in the process of layout, install and dismantle of guardrail as required
Ensures that Technicians attend daily safety meetings and reviews crew sheets for accuracy.
Experience in erect, install, or repairs of guardrail, cable barrier, post and cable, crash cushion attenuators, and other appurtenances using hand tools and power tools.
Load and remove materials from truck and equipment maintenance
Production report and work complete form
Skid Steer operation
Complying with all OSHA, DOT and DBi Services Safety Policies
Experience with Traffic control plan and placing MOT devices along with guardrail installation
Any other duties assigned
Qualifications
1 year plus demonstrated infracture skills preferred
Must be able to work independently; demonstrated ability in working with construction tools, equipment and vehicles properly and safely
Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
Knowledge of DOT Guardrail Standards Specifications preferred
The ability to lift 60 lbs
MOT training/certification preferred but not required
Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions
1 year experience in road maintenance or equivalent supervisory experience preferred
Must be able to work independently; ability to operate tools, equipment and vehicles properly and safely
Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
Ability to effectively present information to top management, customers and employees
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to use a computer to prepare reports and communicate with dispatch
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. CDL preferred but not required.
