Job Title: Child Placing Agency Specialist
Locations Available: Lawrence, KS
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

We believe in every child's right to a stable placement with trained foster parents who are dedicated to his or her emotional and physical well-being, their educational opportunity, and permanency with the birth or adoptive family.
Child Placing Agency Specialists partner with foster parents in an effort to assist in providing the best possible services for children and families. Successful candidates are supportive and helpful; compassionate and conscientious learners; and have the ability to quickly instill trust while building relationships. Once those relationships have been built, they are also able to engage in important, but at times difficult, conversations.

Overview of the Child Placing Agency Specialist:
- Makes regular home visits and reviews foster parent logs on foster children
- Assists in the process of recruiting and licensing new foster families
- Assists foster parents in accessing resources throughout the community to meet foster child needs
- Prepares monthly reports that document current behavior on each child in assigned homes
- Facilitates support meetings and other activities for foster families regularly
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in the Human Services field required
- Requires at least two years’ experience working with children
Successful completion of post-offer background screening, reference checks, fingerprint-based records search clearance, and drug screening is required. Class C driver’s license with clear driving record, reliable personal transportation, and current automobile insurance, required. Approval by DCCCA’s auto insurance provider to drive vehicles on DCCCA business, required.
