Job Summary
DCG/Watershed, a regional leader in science-based planning and environmental restoration design, is seeking experienced candidates in environmental planning and permitting. Successful candidates will work with a multidisciplinary team of accomplished scientists, planners, engineers, arborists, and landscape architects, while reporting to the Director of Planning.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordination with project applicants, engineers, architects, and agency staff to ensure project permit feasibility.
- Preparation of environmental permits and documentation, including Section 404/401, HPA, shoreline, critical area permits, SEPA/NEPA, and Environmental Impact Statements.
- Assist project teams in areas of comprehensive planning, shoreline master program updates, and critical areas ordinance updates, including review of best available science.
- Assist with development of environmental policy and regulations that protect natural resources in concert with the interests of people and communities to create sustainable solutions.
- Interacting and communicating with clients, regulators, and staff at all levels
- Occasional travel in locations across the Pacific Northwest
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Required
- Bachelor’s degree in planning, environmental science, or a related field
- 3 years of experience as an Environmental Planner
- Experience with local, Washington state, and federal permitting
- Some experience planning in Washington state
- Ability to work cooperatively on multidisciplinary projects
- Experience in oral presentations
- Experience using standard computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Desired
- More than 3 years of experience as an Environmental Planner

Total Compensation:
- $30 – 60/hr., full-time
- $900/mo. towards medical insurance
