Job Posting Title: Accounting Manager Job Description: Leads the day-to-day operations of the accounting department to include bank and account reconciliations, fixed asset inventory activities, reporting and compliance items. Supervises finance and accounts payable staff, and supports yearly financial audit of all District operations, trains/supports staff in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Supports and develops training of all bookkeepers throughout the District. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Occasional lifting five (5) to ten (10) pounds • Frequent sitting • Occasional bending, squatting, or standing ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Mostly clean and comfortable Position Specific Information (if Applicable): Responsibilities: Monitor daily workload and activities of the Accounts Payable and Finance team to ensure team productivity. Chart of account management and compliance with CDE FPP. Manage the preparation, review and edits of 1099’s for timely disbursement Perform other related duties as assigned or requested File unclaimed property reports in compliance with statute and regulation. Supervise professional/technical and classified staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, and delegation of duties; mentor, discipline/terminate; conduct evaluations. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of and compliance with State and Federal accounting laws and regulations. Communicate to District stakeholders financial updates and changes through trainings or written / verbal / internet communique. This includes maintenance and updates of accounting manuals. Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends and issues in a timely manner. Recommend and oversee software development and changes that affect the bookkeeping function including fee collection and assessment software, testing of Workday enhancements and configuration changes, and many others. Prevent and manage operational risk, loss and liability through the monthly bank reconciliation process. Collaborate with members of Business Leadership (BOLT), HR, IT and school leadership to determine impacts of accounting and software changes. Direct the activities of financial audits, and contribute and support preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. Implement and maintain internal controls to create accurate and transparent records, to include supplier payments, petty cash, and reimbursements. Any exceptions to the normal off-track time will be noted in the Additional Position Details section above, as scheduled work days.) 260 Work Days Minimum Hire Rate: $66,781.43 USD Annual Maximum Hire Rate: $81,807.25 USD Annual Full Salary Range: $66,781.43 USD - $96,833.07 USD Annual All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE. Benefits: This position is eligible for health, vision, dental, health savings account (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), District paid and voluntary additional (supplemental) life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, short and long-term disability, critical illness and accident voluntary insurance, employee assistance program (EAP), voluntary 401(k), 403(b) and 457 retirement plan options. There is also a voluntary 403(b) savings plan with up to 4% District match for up to 5 years from date of hire. Time Off Plans: This position is eligible for paid off-track, sick and personal time.
