Job Posting Title: Counselor - Elementary Job Description: Designs and implements a school guidance curriculum; provides individual student planning, responsive services, and systems support. Works as a team member with school staff, parents and the community to create a caring, supportive climate and atmosphere whereby students can achieve academic success. Understanding of unique and diverse challenges, both personally and developmentally that impact academic achievement of elementary school students is essential. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Position Specific Information (if Applicable): Responsibilities: --- Work collaboratively within the school environment and with appropriate stakeholders to advance the goals of the Counseling Program. --- Customize counseling services to meet individual student and school needs. Counsel individuals to help them understand and overcome personal, social or behavioral problems affecting their education. --- Use available technology resources to enhance the school counseling practice and program. --- Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills. --- Provide information to students and parents regarding academic progress, counseling programs, community resources, etc. --- Encourage two-way communication to enhance and promote the school counseling program. --- Maintain community partnerships to support students and their families. --- Deliver counseling services through classroom guidance lessons, small groups and individual counseling. --- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. --- Document health related services in designated Medicaid documentation system for the DCSD School Medicaid Reimbursement Program as assigned. --- Support students in the successful transition from each grade level into the next phase. --- Demonstrate age-appropriate counseling practices that meet academic and personal/social needs. --- Use assessment data to measure student learning and academic growth and analyze results in planning counseling decisions. --- Refer and connect students to appropriate resources to enhance learning and development. --- Manage a counseling program in order to encourage and support academic achievement and personal/social development. --- Assist in coordinating district and state testing programs. --- Align the counseling program to school goals (School Improvement Plan). Certifications: Special Service Provider License - School Counseling - Colorado Department of Education Education: Master's Degree: Counseling Skills: Position Type: Regular Primary Location: Meadow View Elementary One Year Only (Yes or No): No Scheduled Hours Per Week: 40 FTE: 1.00 Approx Scheduled Days Per Year: 190 Work Days Minimum Hire Rate: $45,209.00 USD Annual Maximum Hire Rate: $96,707.00 USD Annual Full Salary Range: $45,209.00 USD - $96,707.00 USD Annual All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE.
