Job Posting Title: Strategic Sourcing Specialist Job Description: Leads the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process and strategy, category management and supplier audit processes for the District. Leverages end-to-end sourcing, contracting, and supplier management to make recommendations to support business needs. Develops the overall supplier strategy process; collaborates with all Buyers, Schools, Departments, and external Suppliers to develop historical, competitive and future-looking supply market reviews; value chain cost assessments; focuses on supporting negotiation strategies and category sourcing strategies required to accelerate synergy benefit realization and supply base optimization. ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS • Mostly clean and comfortable ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Occasional lifting five (5) to ten (10) pounds • Frequent sitting • Occasional bending, squatting, or standing Position Specific Information (if Applicable): Responsibilities: Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) strategy for services suppliers and lead quarterly supplier business review meetings Partner with stakeholders to lead supplier selection activities including conducting RFx’s, negotiations as well as develop strategic sourcing plans/ project pipeline looking ahead 12 to 24 months Perform benchmarking and drive other market intelligence activities Analyze supplier spend data to ensure compliance with the contract Lead contract and pricing negotiations and partner closely with the Legal Department to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of negotiations Gather, scrutinize, and analyze internal and external data from multiple sources to support department and school leaders in sourcing strategies Partner with stakeholders to lead supplier management initiatives to include the following: Identify and handle violations and exceptions to existing supplier contracts Measure, lead and improve supplier performance against negotiated Service Level Agreement's (SLAs) and quality metrics Perform other related duties as assigned or requested Certifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree: Accounting, Bachelor's Degree: Economics, Bachelor's Degree: Finance, Bachelor's Degree: Public Administration Skills: Ability to both develop strategic sourcing plans and dive deep in contract details, Ability to create backup plans and alternative options when unforeseen circumstances arise, Analytical experience in category management, buying and/or other category/marketing- related functions, Collaborative team player, Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and navigating situations without clear directions, Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multi-functional teams, Demonstrated experience and achievement in sourcing solutions for multiple categories, Effective oral and written communication skills, Experience generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection, Experience with supplier scorecards and supplier management, Experience with working in a contract management lifecycle tool, Expert negotiation skills with a consistent track record of savings, Knowledge of Supply Chains and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Maintains a generally positive attitude, Observes all District policies and procedures., Proven ability to drive positive change and build strong partner relationships, Self-starter who can build sourcing/procurement credibility within groups not accustomed to working with Strategic Sourcing, Strong interpersonal and communications skills, Strong organizational and time management skills, Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions Position Type: Regular Primary Location: West Support Center One Year Only (Yes or No): No Scheduled Hours Per Week: 40 FTE: 1 Approx Scheduled Days Per Year: (260 days indicates a year-round position. Time off [or Off-Track Days] are then granted based on the position. Any exceptions to the normal off-track time will be noted in the Additional Position Details section above, as scheduled work days.) 260 Work Days Minimum Hire Rate: $60,474.92 USD Annual Maximum Hire Rate: $74,081.77 USD Annual Full Salary Range: $60,474.92 USD - $87,688.63 USD Annual All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
