Job Description
Responsible for the transportation of students to and from schools and various other District activities in vehicles with a capacity of 14 passengers or less.
This position is a driving position that does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school.
Is a positive role model by modeling desirable behaviors-e.g. good attendance, patience, tolerance, and safe driving skills.
Essential Physical Requirements
Must be at least 21 years old.
- Constant sitting
- Frequent overhead reaching / lifting of twenty (20) pounds, standing, walking, squatting, stooping, climbing.
- Ability to clear 42-inch exit door.
REQUIRED : Initial drug screen upon hire; participation in a random drug and alcohol screening program.
Position Specific Information (if Applicable) :
Responsibilities
- Perform daily pre and post route safety inspections on assigned vehicle. Service vehicle as required.
- Maintain student conduct that insures the safety of all students.
- Coordinate with dispatch and scheduling personnel to ensure all required information is current and accurate.
- Complete appropriate paperwork.
- Attend training programs, meetings and in-services as required by the District or the state.
- Administer first aid as necessary.
- Report all accidents / incidents immediately to transportation management or appropriate authorities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Operate assigned Multifunction Vehicle (MFV) or small school bus (14 passengers or less) in compliance with procedures contained in the School Bus Operator's Handbook, including all local state and federal laws and regulations.
