As a Tire Installation Technician, your essential job functions will include the following: Responsible for jacking up a vehicle and performing tire replacement and installation, including tire removal, mounting, wheel balancing, core prep, valve stem replacement and TPMS repair/replacement. Operate and drive a full-size work van to and from customer appointments within a 50-mile radius of the distribution center. Ensure adherence with all standard operating procedures for tire installation, operating a vehicle, and quality inspection standards. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and ensure all calibrations are performed within the time frames specified. Notify supervisor of any regular maintenance of equipment or van that is needed in advance to adjust customer scheduling. Ensure all orders are processed according to established procedures, including documentation and receipts. Maintain a clean, safe & secure work area at all times. Participate in and contribute to process improvements and best practices. Assist with DC operational tasks during down times or busy season (unloading, picking, shipping, and building) to support the success of the business. Customer Service Ensure good customer relations by consistently completing orders on time and acting in a courteous and professional manner. Maintain effective relationships with customers, co-workers, and dealer personnel. Ensure customer satisfaction by overseeing customer complaints and solving problems that arise. Driving Requirements Drive to and from customer appointments within 50-mile radius of DC. Follow safe driving practices. Load and unload work van with product, tools and consumables. Properly secure loads and ensure loads are within requirements. Meet the requirements of Dealer Tire’s Motor Vehicle Record Policy and Company Vehicle Fleet Policy. Basic computer skills. Ability to use company phones/tablets to navigate through software and systems to complete work effectively. Good communication skills with strong customer service orientation. Must be able to speak/read English well enough to converse with the public, understand road signs, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on records and reports. Must be 21 years of age or older. Valid driver’s license Automotive or tire mounting, and balancing experience a plus. Physical Job Requirements Able to lift up to 70 pounds. Continuous lifting, bending, crouching, and twisting. Wear all required safety equipment. Comply with the Dealer Tire Store dress code policy. You will be required to work a fluctuating work week schedule, and must have flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Drug Policy Dealer Tire is a drug-free environment. All applicants being considered for employment must pass a pre-employment drug screening before beginning work. There will be random drug testing for all Dealer Tire driving employees. The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The total compensation package may also include commission, bonus or profit sharing.
