Certified Medical Assistant

Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring for a qualified, patient-care focused Certified Medical Assistant to work for a State Hospital in Pflugerville, TX.

Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the collection of patient/family data that may include biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental information per practice protocol.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collects and documents vital signs, BMI, height/weight and reason for visit with 100% accuracy. 
• Updates documentation to include if patient has received care at any other location since last visit. 
• Documents current medications, allergies and other information per practice protocol with 100% accuracy. 
• Tasks are measured by observation of the evaluator, feedback from providers and review of electronic health record.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Required. 
• Fundamental knowledge of pediatric assessment and treatment.
• Also required is knowledge of related OSHA and CLIA/COLA guidelines and requirements, general office tasks, confidentiality and filing system. 
• Knowledge of medical terminology. 
• Ability to use thermometer, scales, sphygmomanometer/stethoscope, butterfly needles, hearing/vision screening equipment, pulse oximetry, typanometer, basic laboratory equipment, i.e., microscope, centrifuge, hematology analyzer, and specimen collection. 
• Proficiency with treatments such as nebulizer, ear irrigation, and dressing changes. 
• Familiarity with all business office machines, i.e., computer, multiline telephone, copier and fax machines. 
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills require
• Graduation from a medical assistant or emergency medical technician program. 
• Other Documentation from the licensing authority confirming that medical assistant/emergency medical technician education is not a requirement for certification. Required.
• BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support American Heart Association. Required.
• CCMA - Cert-Cert Clinical MA - CCMA National Healthcareer Association Or 
• CMA-AAM - Cert-Cert Medical Assistant American Association of Medical Assistants Or 
• EMT - Emergency Medical Techn Texas Department of State Health Services Or 
• EMT-A - Advanced EMT Texas Department of State Health Services Or EMT-B 
• Emergency Medical Techn-Basic Texas Department of State Health Services Or 
• EMT-I - Emergency Medical Techn-Interm Texas Department of State Health Services Or 
• EMT-P - Emergency Medical Techn-Parame Texas Department of State Health Services Or LIC PAR - Lic-Paramedic Texas Department of State Health Services 
• Or NCMA - National Cert Med Assistant National Center for Competency Testing Or NRCMA - Nat Reg Cert Med Assistant National Association of Health Professionals Or RMA - Registered Medical Assistant
• American Association of Medical Personnel,
• American Allied Health, American Medical
• Technologists, or American Registry of Medical Assistants

Job Details:

• Schedule varies; Typically M-F hours between 8am -5pm
• $21/hr (Based on Experience) benefits
