Decades Arcade is hiring!

We are looking for a part-time employee to be Arcade Guardian. Yes, you could be a guardian of a real-life, old-school ARCADE!! This job is perfect for retail or service industry people / former servers/bartenders - people skills money skills are necessary. Applicant must be over 21 years old.

You should be:

• Great with all types of customers, from young kids to great grandparents, especially when explaining things or answering questions. We need someone who can confidently and charmingly command the attention of a crowd!
• Independent and responsible enough to follow arcade procedures, enforce arcade rules, and perform opening & closing duties.
• Great with money management/cashier duties - you'll be responsible for a small cash drawer, credit card transactions, gift card management, providing credits and refunds
• Great with computers - you'll need to use a software program and POS system every shift with ease
• Committed to cleaning, health and safety - you’ll do sweeping, mopping, bathroom cleaning and surface cleaning daily. You’ll need to wear a mask whenever the business mandates mask are necessary (we follows guidance from UVA Health System and CDC). COVID Vaccination is required of all employees so you will be asked to provide your vaccination card.
• Interested in games – even if you don’t know all the titles, you must be excited to learn about them and perform simple troubleshooting & repairs.
• Committed to making the business a Safe Space for everyone. That means being able to politely and confidently talk to a customer who is not following our rules and following our training steps to remove the customer from the premises if need be. We have no tolerance for hate or bullying.
• Physically able to stand and walk during your shift of up to 8 hours, climb stairs frequently, and lift up to 30 pounds.

Consistent hours will be on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays. Availability from 1pm to 11pm on those days is required, and total hours per week will range from 15-20. If you catch on quickly, there is an opportunity for more hours!

Note - you do not have to have arcade experience or even job experience to apply. We can teach you the skills - we are looking for the right personality traits to excel.
